Our client is Martin-Baker Aircraft, world leader in the manufacture of ejection seats. Established in 1946, they have spent the last 80 years producing bespoke ejection seats for fighter jets and training aircraft and their reputation for saving lives is legendary.
Role
The largest of three market sectors is the Americas, which covers the USA, Canada, Central and South America. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Operations, this role is the Head of Commercial-Americas. Managing a team of up to 12 with 3 direct reports, the role provides strategic leadership for all pre and post contract activities in the region. The Head of Commercial is involved in close collaboration with major customers (including US Prime Contractors) and leads commercial growth strategies, P&L performance, pricing, negotiations, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
Experience
We are looking for the following experience:
• Extensive commercial leadership across international markets
• Senior-level customer relationship development
• Team management and development, in particular developing commercial officers.
• US Government FAR 15 contracting (pre- and post-contract)
• Regulatory compliance (US ITAR)
• Complex bid activity (RFQ to contract award)
• KPI/metric improvement
• Change management experience
Location
The company’s headquarters are in Denham in Buckinghamshire. Based on its own site in a rural setting, employees have access to country walks as well as to new offices and a subsidised staff restaurant. The nature of this role requires a commitment to be in the office for 4 days per week. The role will also be required to travel internationally to customer meetings.
Salary
The package on offer is consistent with a Head of Commercial or Commercial Director of a business unit. All staff finish at lunchtime on Fridays.
