Main duties of the job
Provide senior operational leadership and management across assigned services, ensuring delivery against performance improvement, quality, and financial targets.
Lead and deliver programmes of service transformation to improve sustainability, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Maintain oversight of operational risks, ensuring appropriate controls and mitigations are in place to support safe and effective service delivery.
Develop and implement innovative models of care and ways of working, supported by technology where appropriate.
Lead programme management activity, ensuring robust governance, delivery, and reporting arrangements.
Support performance management processes, using data and insight to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of organisational priorities.
Provide leadership and direction to operational managers, ensuring accountability, consistency, and high performance.

* Senior leadership role within the divisional structure with responsibility for operational delivery and transformation.
* Strong focus on performance and accountability, ensuring delivery against agreed targets and standards.
* Transformation and improvement driven, with responsibility for developing innovative service models and embedding best practice.
* Programme leadership remit, overseeing delivery of complex programmes and organisational priorities.
* System leadership expectations, requiring partnership working across multiple stakeholders, divisions and organisations.
* Governance and assurance responsibilities, including oversight of risks, incidents, and quality frameworks.
* People leadership focus, promoting accountability, staff engagement, and a high-performing culture.
Person Specification
* Masters degree level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
* Demonstrable experience of managing services, delivering to target, within constraints and on time.
* Strong performance delivery ethos and ability to hold staff appropriately to account
* Experience of service improvement methodologies & delivery
* Evidence of setting ambitious targets and implementing innovative solutions to improve services within tight financial constraints.
* Evidence of leading complex service transformation.
