Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our Supply Chain people team. This will be the HR Advisor for our Transport sector, with travel to Distribution centres required. The role will be based out of one of our North West sites (Liverpool, Ellesmere Port, Runcorn).
Reporting to the People Business Partner, this generalist role will be responsible for providing effective and efficient HR advice. As our HR Advisor, you will support Managers on generalist HR issues and wider employee relations issues for high numbers of colleagues. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices, working with the People Business Partner and Management team to support a culture aligned to our values. The role has a wide remit including employee relations, employment law, contracts, right to work checks & personnel file audits, uniform ordering, disciplinary, grievances, appeals, sickness, absence/medical capability/occupational health and performance management. There will also be a number of projects you can get involved in.
Responsibilities
* Provide generalist HR advice and support to managers across a high-volume environment.
* Handle employee relations, disciplinary, grievances, appeals and absence management.
* Manage contracts, right-to-work checks, personnel file audits, and uniform ordering.
* Apply employment law and HR best practice; support performance management and occupational health processes.
* Contribute to HR systems and process improvements with the People Business Partner and management team.
* Travel to Distribution centres as required and operate across transport functions within the Supply Chain.
* Participate in HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications
* High volume employee relations experience, ideally within a similar environment.
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
* Strong time management and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
* Experience working in a unionised environment.
* Self-motivated, driven and able to manage own workload.
