Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.

Shifts run between: 08:00 - 16:30 from Monday to Sunday.
Hours of work: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent
Annual Allowances: £1,127.50 for working weekends
Location: Okehampton Training Camp, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1QP

Main Responsibilities
* To ensure that the Defence Training Estate is kept in top condition
* Manning of lookouts
* Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
* Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)
* Manufacturing and deploying targets
* Equipment testing
* Driving and operating fleet vehicles
* Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights
* Ensure that the facilities adhere to strict safety protocols
* Report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate
* To liaise with all stakeholders to ensure effective training area delivery
* Willingness to undertake training to work in high risk areas e.g. ranges & on Dartmoor
* Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems
The Ideal Candidate
* Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance
* Excellent communication skills
* Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet
* Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH protocols
* Experience of track and fencing maintenance
* A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role
* Be vaccinated against work place risks
