Main ResponsibilitiesOperation of rural plant & machinery, including tractors with attachments.General rural estate maintenance: Tree works, fencing, strimming, planting, track works, dry stone walling, and other rural tasks.Adherence to Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, manual handling, COSHH requirements.Reporting defects and other reactive maintenance.To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper-based systems.To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work e.g. clearance of stock, collection of litter and military debris, carry out condition reports and defect reporting, control of access including security cordons, report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate.To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose in accordance with the allocation and ensure compliance with the TESC service modules e.g. preventative maintenance, grounds maintenance, sustainability tasks.The Ideal CandidateKnowledge of working in a rural environment (Dartmoor Training Area)Knowledge of Dartmoor stock clearance and working practices.Experience of working in a rural environment.Experience of communicating with customers.Experience using Health & Safety processes and Risk AssessmentsGreat communication skillsA valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this roleExperience in operating Tractors/Plant & Machinery.Experience working with Chainsaws and other forestry equipmentDesirable QualificationsA qualification linked to countryside management is desirable, and familiarity with working in moorland, coastal habitat, woodlands and active sand dune systems.Qualifications in Chainsaw Operations.Qualifications in Operating Plant & Machinery such as Tractors with Attachments, Machinery used in Track Works.Qualifications in Forestry Works/MachineryJoin Landmarc and Enjoy a Competitive Salary Plus Outstanding Benefits!At Landmarc, we value our employees and go beyond just offering a competitive salary.We're proud to provide a range of exceptional benefits designed to support your well-being, career growth, and work-life balance.
