About the Role
We are seeking a creative and proactive Video & Social Content Producer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their career (typically with around 3–5 years’ experience) who is ready to take the next step in developing their skills in video production, storytelling, and social media within a mission-driven organization.
You will translate complex real-world issues into compelling, platform-native stories that people watch, share, and engage with. Working closely with the communications team, you will take ownership of producing and delivering social content across platforms — particularly short-form video — while helping to shape how our work reaches and resonates with audiences.
This is a hands-on role with meaningful creative responsibility. You will film, edit, and publish content, contribute ideas, and play a central role in how stories are told across our channels — building a strong portfolio of impactful, widely distributed work along the way.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce and deliver social content across Instagram, X, YouTube, and other platforms
• Film, edit, and publish video content (short-form and long-form) tailored to each platform
• Plan and support video shoots, including interviews and on-the-ground footage
• Translate reports, campaigns, and current events into clear, engaging content
• Develop and pitch ideas designed to be watched, shared, and discussed
• Manage elements of the content calendar to ensure consistent, timely output
• Monitor trends and adapt content to improve reach and engagement
• Track performance and apply insights to strengthen future content
• Collaborate with internal teams on campaigns and key moments
Essential Requirements
• Experience creating social media content (professional, freelance, or personal projects)
• Intermediate video production and editing skills (e.g. Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar)
• Strong interest in creating video content for social platforms
• Good storytelling instincts and visual awareness
• Ability to think critically about hooks, pacing, and audience attention
• Strong written communication skills
• Interest in global issues, human rights, and current affairs
Desirable (Bonus)
• Demonstrated interest or engagement in activism, advocacy, or issue-driven work
• Knowledge of Asia’s political or cultural landscape, particularly Hong Kong
• Experience working in a nonprofit, media, or content-focused environment
• Familiarity with motion graphics or animation tools
• Ability to speak or understand Cantonese
• Surprisingly deep knowledge of One Direction (entirely optional, but appreciated)
