Key responsibilities 1. To operate all CCTV equipment and cameras proactively and in response whilst complying with the Islington Council CCTV Code of practice.
2. To respond and action all CCTV requests including those from outside Agencies, the Police, Insurance Companies and Council departments.
3. To communicate with other departments, external agencies or the public in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
4. To operate Radio Communications and other supplied equipment, including liaising operationally with police and to co-ordinate a response to detected incidents.
5. To capture all CCTV recordings events and actions in a clear, legible, and accurate format and to record these onto the computer databases. To ensure daily and nightly occurrence logs are completed.
6. To produce detailed records or evidential material and maintain their continuity in a clear, legible, accurate format. This includes DVD management records, evidence records, and witness statements to a standard acceptable as evidence in a court of law.
7. To maintain personal integrity and confidentiality of all information obtained within the control room, at all times, whether written, verbal or by any other means.
8. To record and inform management of all relevant faults found and to ensure any impacts on CCTV views are reported to ensure suitable coverage is maintained.
9. To ensure the security of the control room and all equipment is always maintained satisfactorily, which includes access control of all visitors to the control room including times outside of the Councils normal office hours. To assist all visitors with their requests.
10. Be proficient in information technology and be able to operate any system that is in use or may be installed for future technological improvements.
11. To assist others in the use of information technology systems and administration
12. To work 8 hour shifts on a 24-hour shift rota over 365 days a year, in a clearly identifiable Islington Council uniform.
EXPERIENCE
CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance)
Qualified Minimum BTEC Level 2. SIA Registered.
Experience
Experience of working in Public Space CCTV control rooms.
Experience of working in partnership with police and other agencies.
Experience of operating CCTV monitoring equipment and DVD recording system and complying with Standard Operating Procedures and CCTV Code of Practice.
Experience of Synectics and Vigilant CCTV systems.
