Job Description
What will you be doing?
We’re looking for a skilled Layout Engineer to support the development of a high‑profile nuclear engineering programme. This is a chance to work on a next‑generation modular nuclear solution, contributing directly to layout integration and installation planning across complex plant systems.
Responsibilities
 * Work with cross‑functional teams to gather system requirements and translate them into layout design solutions.
 * Produce integrated layouts across mechanical and electrical domains during early design and option assessment phases.
 * Deliver installation design concepts that align with programme goals for performance, cost, and schedule.
 * Analyse and manage design risks in line with project safety and regulatory expectations.
 * Collaborate with CAD, component, and systems engineers to ensure consistent, high‑quality design development.
 * Uphold strict compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
 * Support data management and configuration control efforts to ensure traceability across the design lifecycle.
 * Provide inputs to design reviews and technical assurance gates to maintain quality standards.
Qualifications
 * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related discipline).
 * Experience working on complex layout design in regulated industries (nuclear, aerospace, defence, etc.).
 * Proficient in interpreting and developing mechanical and electrical plant layouts.
 * Familiar with configuration management principles and technical document control.
 * Strong understanding of installation sequencing, access, maintainability, and integration considerations.
 * Comfortable navigating risk‑based decision‑making in safety‑critical environments.
