Mechanical Design Engineer (Progression to Engineering Manager) – Worthing / Remote
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + progression to Manager, training, company benefits, and remote working.
Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to step up into Engineering Management with full autonomy to build and manage a team in your own image, with support from the senior leadership team to execute innovative ideas?

The business has grown due to an innovative, R&D-focused approach and has an extensive project pipeline requiring growth in the design teams.
In this role you will manage the mechanical design team (2 engineers) plus electrical control engineer, and oversee supplier management. You will engage with new and existing clients to understand requirements and use available resources to deliver high-standard products.
The ideal candidate will have experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks in a mechanical design background, and familiarity with designing complex systems that include gauges, valves, liquid lines, etc., with a view to progressing into management.
The Role
* Understand customer requirements for each bespoke build
* Oversee project delivery from inception to completion
* Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design cutting-edge, temperature-controlled storage and shipping containers
* Coach and mentor junior staff
* Discuss with the senior management team ideas for how to build the team
The Person
* Design experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
* Comfortable leading a small design team
* Experience with the design of similar systems that have gauges, valves, sensors, etc.
