JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Install, maintain and test all instrument transformer rated meters.
This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre:employment and random drug testing.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
:
Test, verify and troubleshoot all System tie points. Operate packaged meter and recorder software applications.
:
Install and monitor all load research equipment. Prepare service orders, multiplier sheets, and associated paperwork for transformer rated meters.
:
Troubleshoot communications of remote metering.
:
Perform vector, load analysis and power factor tests on all metering installations.
:
Calculate meter constants on all types of installations.
:
Distribution Line outage restoration, such as scouting and refusing.
:
Lift, carry or transport up to 42lbs, climb ladders (extension ladders up to 25 feet) and have the ability to pull, push, lift, crawl, kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required of the position
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum experience required of the position
:
Mech Meter Field I :Prior utility field experience preferred.
:
Mech, Meter Field II :Minimum 3+ years utility field experience required.
:
Mech, Meter Field Sr. : Minimum 5+ years utility field experience required.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Must have a good safety record and possess a safe attitude. Must have competent computer skills. Must have competent Mathematics and Trigonometry skills. Knowledge of basic electric circuit analysis, vector I phase or relationship. Knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory. Ability to work independently and with others. Must be customer oriented. Must be able to work in industrial and petrochemical plants. Must be a self:starter, dependable, have the ability to plan and organize.

Requires successful completion of the EEI CAST test.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
