Contracts Manager – Civil Engineering (Temp to Perm)
Location: Barking (projects across the M25)
Rate: £500 per day (initial 3-month contract with route to permanent)
The Company
We're working with a specialist SME civils contractor delivering tunnelling, shafts, and paving works across London and the South East. With a strong reputation and repeat work from major contractors, they are now seeking a key hire to support growth.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you'll act as the number two to the owner, taking responsibility for programming and project delivery. This role is about both capability and character — the right person will be confident, decisive, and not afraid to make tough calls when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate civil engineering projects across the M25 region
* Oversee programming and scheduling to ensure timely delivery
* Support the owner with decision-making and day-to-day operations
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
* Uphold safety and quality standards across all projects
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Contracts Manager / Senior Project Manager in civils (tunnelling, shafts, or paving experience desirable)
* Strong understanding of project programming
* Confident and decisive character, able to lead and take responsibility
* Flexible and willing to travel across M25 projects
