Seize this opportunity as a Senior Service Engineer within our Grid Automation Team in Stone, Staffordshire.
This is a hybrid role, providing technical advice to customers, plus commissioning, installing, and testing products/equipment including:
* Identifying and correcting complex problems associated with start-up
* Researching and recommending new product upgrades to meet customer needs
* Developing relationships with customers to secure future business
* Resolving implementation queries and training customers on purchased equipment
* Collaborating with the Power Grids Grid Automation Engineering Department on installation, commissioning, and fault resolution of SCADA, RTU, communication networks, and protection systems

About the Role
1. Work on an ‘on call Rota’ for out-of-hours emergency support
2. Maintain records of customer problems, maintenance, and solutions
3. Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
4. Assist Sales & Tendering with customer and site-specific knowledge
5. Support customer approval activities such as Type Registration and custom designs
6. Prepare technical & test specifications, reports, IEC61850 files, and design drawings
7. Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, and Accountancy policies
8. Maintain customer spares and standby systems
9. Prepare method statements and risk assessments for onsite work
10. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
11. Conform to the HAPG Electrical Safety Management System
12. Understand environmental risks related to the business
13. Be flexible to work away from home as required
14. Collaborate with the wider HAPG team and promote HAPG technologies and values
15. Engage with customers to meet or exceed service expectations
16. Respond promptly to customer requests
17. Apply logical engineering practices under pressure
Your Background
1. Knowledge of SCADA & RTUs
2. Basic understanding of power transmission and distribution protection solutions
3. Customer-focused with fluent English communication skills
4. Security clearance disclosures / Full UK/EU driving license
5. HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
6. Knowledge of communication networks
7. Familiarity with IEC61850
8. Understanding of HAPG Power Grids Products Portfolio
9. Exceptional interpersonal skills
10. National Safety Passport / National Grid BESC and competent person
11. Valid GWO Certification
