The Role of a Female Support Worker
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. We have a waking night position for 36 hours per week with shifts on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, at the following rates: Thursday - £16.15/hour, Saturday and Sunday 20:00 - 08:00 - £19.23/hour. Please note, this position is for female applicants only.
About the Client and Duties
We are looking for dedicated, skilled personal care assistants to join our client's existing care team. Our client has complex care needs and lives with his wife, who is his main carer.
Responsibilities include:
* Administration of medication
* Moving and Handling with Hoist
* Gastrostomy Care / PEG feeding
* Personal Care
* Community support
* Administrative duties
* Light housework
Preferred experience includes dealing with Status Epilepticus, giving Buccal Midazolam, and recognizing medical emergencies. Non-smokers and those comfortable working with cats are preferred.
Training and Requirements
We provide comprehensive paid training to CQC standards, covering:
* Full induction
* Safeguarding Adults
* Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene
* Moving & Handling with Hoist
* Gastrostomy Care / PEG Feeding
All training must be completed before start date; training hours are paid at minimum wage.
Essential requirements include excellent communication skills, recent complex care experience (minimum 6 months), and a friendly, reliable, and compassionate attitude. Female applicants only (exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1). Must be comfortable working with cats and committed to long-term, person-centred care.
