We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Canterbury, starting as soon as possible. As a Year 4 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will foster independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours while supporting pupils’ individual needs. You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high standards and continuity of learning. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 4 curriculum Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Support enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4 Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing Work collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team The school is located in Canterbury, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
