Facilities Manager
Location: Ystradgynlais
Salary: A£37,938 - A£40,476 pro rata
The Council is committed to serving the people of the town by providing essential facilities and fostering community development and well-being. Key services include managing community facilities such as two large recreation parks (14 & 15 hectares), memorial parks, the town clock, a sports recreation ground, a bowls club, the local cemetery, and a network of public footpaths.
They are seeking a proactive, highly organized, and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee their property portfolio, assets, and infrastructure. This role involves facilities management, health and safety, project delivery, and regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include attending Council meetings to provide advice on regulatory frameworks, inspections, and health & safety legislation. You will develop inspection schedules, oversee repairs and improvements, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet service standards.
You will represent the Council in discussions with external bodies and suppliers and support environmental responsibilities under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 and Well-being of Future Generations Act.
Applicants should have an appropriate professional qualification and a commitment to continuous professional development. Proficient IT skills are essential. The role requires attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekends.
