Shipping Manager Wetherby £36k to £39k pa Plus, Bonus and Pension Invigorate Recruitment is looking to recruit an experienced Shipping Manager to work for a well-established organisation based within Wetherby. Our client has been serving the global hospitality and contract market for a decade and are leader in the manufacture and supply of luxury outdoor furniture. They are known for attention to details, commitment to quality, their furniture is deigned, specified and manufactured for the longevity of life and ease of maintenance. The successful applicant will be responsible for all shipping requirements, including Ocean Freight, Airfreight and courier shipments, in addition to some Customer Service duties, liaising directly with an array of global customers. This is a hands-on shipping role with Autonomy, managing the shipping requirements of the business, reporting to the ops director. Key Responsibilities for the Shipping Manager: Review orders identified for dispatch and assign the appropriate shipping agent. Negotiate shipping contracts and rates, striving for cost-efficiency without compromising service quality. Liaise with Warehouse to Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure all furniture leaves the facility damage-free and properly packaged. Track shipments and resolve delivery issues proactively with clients and logistics partners. Request & review shipping quotations. Arrange despatch by appropriate carrier. Generate all invoices, packing notes and other documentation ensuring compliance with export regulations. Negotiate and present Letters of Credit and manage other commercial arrangements. Liaise with carriers with regards to customs clearance for goods Raise order confirmation to client, which includes anticipated delivery installation date. Responding to emails from clients e.g., advise on lead- time etc. Liaising with business locations worldwide. Working with client/ representatives, schedule deliveries to site and arrange installation. Contact Client to receive feedback on installation. Develop and implement shipping policies, procedures, and best practices. Collate and send finish sample submittals and product specification forms on receipt of the sales order; track and monitor the samples through to delivery & approval. Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development. Experience for the Shipping Manager: Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping/logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or high-end product environment. Experience managing B2B shipments Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and export documentation. Experience within a similar role would be preferred together with a candidate having excellent customer service skills, time management skills and an ability to prioritise workload, in order to excel in this autonomous role.
