The Role:
As a Bank Ophthalmic Technician, you will provide essential clinical support to our outpatient team, working on a flexible, zero-hours basis. This role allows you to enjoy the benefits of a bank position while offering regular opportunities to work in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Duties:
* Perform advanced diagnostic tests, including OCT, biometry, and visual fields, to support consultants in delivering accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
* Prepare and support patients during diagnostic and outpatient procedures, prioritising their comfort and safety at all times.
* Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment, ensuring optimal performance for accurate testing and procedures.
* Collaborate with consultants and the wider team to ensure seamless care and efficient patient flow in the outpatient department.
* Monitor patient responses during procedures, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
* Educate and guide patients, answering questions about their care to enhance understanding and satisfaction.
* Support departmental organisation, contributing to a calm, efficient, and patient-focused environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience as an ophthalmic technician in an outpatient setting.
* Expertise in conducting advanced diagnostic tests and maintaining ophthalmic equipment.
* A compassionate, patient-first approach with excellent communication skills.
* Flexibility to work regular weekly shifts on a zero-hours contract basis.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
