Overview
To own and continuously improve the end-to-end supply chain, inventory planning, logistics and operational performance of the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for fixing availability, quality, and working capital performance in the short term, while building scalable processes, systems and supplier partnerships to support long-term, multi-channel growth. Following strong 2025 growth, there is a central requirement to overhaul existing infrastructure and culturally transform current working practices to best-in-class standards with strong governance.

We need someone who can transform our supply chain operations to a proactive, scalable function. You'll be building the operational backbone that supports our growth ambitions across showrooms, eCommerce, trade, and future franchise channels, putting your signature on BathroomsByDesign and the Design Manufacturing Group House of Brands.

Key Objectives
1. OTIF excellence: Achieve and maintain ≥95% On-Time-In-Full delivery performance
2. Quality control: Reduce product failure rate to <1%
4. Working capital optimisation: Improve inventory turns and reduce cash tied up in stock
6. Warehouse transformation: Optimise warehouse layout and achieve transformational productivity improvements
Core Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Planning & Availability
* Own demand forecasting, supply planning and stock availability across the product range
* Improve forecast accuracy through seasonality, launch planning and promotional modelling
* Identify and eliminate root causes of stockouts and availability failures
* Maintain end-to-end visibility of critical SKUs and delivery timelines
Measures of success:
* Stockout incidents reduced by 40%+
* Optimise inventory levels, buffer stock and intake profiles
* Improve inventory turns while protecting service levels
* Introduce differentiated replenishment strategies (A/B/C, JIT, consignment where appropriate)
* Reduce cash tied up in stock through better planning and supplier collaboration
Measures of success:
* Inventory turns ~8x
* Working capital reduced year-on-year
* Safety stock reduced without service degradation
3. Supplier & Factory Performance
* Own supplier relationships from operational agreement through delivery and quality
* Implement supplier scorecards and SLAs covering delivery, quality and responsiveness
* Introduce structured performance reviews and escalation processes
* Work closely with Head of Merchandising on supplier selection and performance standards
Measures of success:
* 90%+ SLA compliance
* Supplier-related delays reduced by 60%
* Stronger, more predictable supplier performance
4. Quality Control & Customer Outcomes
* Design and maintain robust quality control processes and SOPs
* Ensure rapid root-cause analysis and corrective action on product failures
* Work with suppliers and internal teams to reduce repeat issues
* Protect customer experience and brand reputation
Measures of success:
* Customer quality complaints reduced by 50%
5. Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution
* Own logistics and last-mile delivery performance
* Optimise distribution flows, delivery timelines and cost to serve
* Lead warehouse strategy, layout optimisation and capacity planning as the business scales
* Improve reverse logistics and returns handling

* Warehouse optimised with transformational productivity gains
* Cost to serve reduced
* Returns processed efficiently with minimal customer friction
6. Systems, Data & Process Improvement
* Maximise current ERP and planning systems through practical improvements
* Define future system requirements in partnership with leadership
* Build dashboards and KPI reporting to drive accountability and decision-making
* Ensure processes are documented, repeatable and scalable
Experience & Capability Profile
* Strong background in supply chain planning, logistics and operations: demand planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, distribution
* Proven ability to improve availability, forecasting and operational KPIs
* Experience in retail, DTC or multi-channel environments
* Comfortable operating in fast-moving, imperfect environments
* Commercially aware and data-driven
Highly Relevant Experience
* Head of Logistics / Supply Chain Operations / Warehouse Manager roles
* New product launches and scaling product ranges
* Home improvement, interiors, or product-based retail sectors
* Modern retail tech / ERP exposure (Odoo, SAP, Salesforce, Shopify, Magento)
* Cross-functional operational leadership

Employment Arrangements
We are open to fixed-term contract, temp-to-perm, or permanent (preferred) arrangements depending on candidate circumstances. For contract arrangements, we typically begin with a 3 month engagement to provide due diligence for both parties.
