Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies supports around 11,000 adults each year to manage common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression. You will be trained to deliver effective, evidence‑based psychological therapies either in person or online via digital platforms.
We run clinics from a variety of community venues across Buckinghamshire. Our main bases are located centrally in High Wycombe in the south and Aylesbury in the north of the county.
Main duties of the job
You will be trained to deliver effective, evidence‑based psychological therapies either in person or online via digital platforms.
Staff wellbeing is a top priority for us. We have an active, award‑winning, wellbeing team and provide weekly clinical supervision (individually and in groups), a monthly clinical skills forum meeting, and opportunities for ongoing training and line management support.
The role requires compassion, teamwork, enthusiasm and motivation. You will need experience of working in a mental health setting and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job responsibilities
* Attend the University of Reading Post‑Graduate Diploma in Evidence‑Based Psychological Treatments, starting September 2026.
* Receive clinical supervision (CBT) from BABCP‑accredited clinicians at both the university and Bucks Talking Therapies.
* Complete the required hybrid working arrangement: 80 % in‑person at office/clinic/university and 20 % home working.
* Travel to Reading regularly for training and across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire for clinical activity.
Qualifications
* Core health profession as defined by BABCP.
* Experience of working in a stepped care service for anxiety and depression.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in mental health services.
* Demonstrable experience delivering CBT‑based interventions under supervision.
* Ability to meet agreed service targets.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time.
* High standards in written communication; ability to write clear reports and letters to referrers.
* Experience working in Primary Care services and in a UK health and/or care system.
Knowledge
* Understanding of anxiety and depression presentation in Primary Care.
* Knowledge of medications used for anxiety, depression and other common mental health problems.
* Understanding of the need for evidence‑based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
* Experience conducting risk assessments within scope of practice.
* Ability to evaluate and implement training outcomes.
* Fluency in languages other than English (where applicable).
* Knowledge of the issues surrounding work and its impact on mental health.
