Role Overview:
We are seeking a Site Engineer (Quality) to join our team delivering Schemes under the National Highways SDF contract. This role is ideal for someone with a grounding/appreciation of both consultancy and contracting environments, and a passion for quality and compliance in infrastructure delivery. Ownership in workloads is encouraged ensuring schemes are delivered to cost, quality and on time as part of a project team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the production and management of site documentation:
* Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
* Construction Phase Plans (CPP)
* RAMS reviews
* Permits and material approvals
* Support commercial teams with take-offs and Early Warning Notices (EWNs)
* Liaise with Principal Designers during Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)
* Assist Agents with scheme programming and delivery
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors on site with direction from Agents/PM's.
* Submit Technical Queries (TQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) via CEMAR
* Ensure scheme documentation is properly closed out
* Light use of AutoCAD for site layouts and mark-ups
* Maintain digital records and documentation using MS Office Suite
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in highways or civil infrastructure projects
* Strong understanding of quality assurance and site documentation
* Commercial awareness and ability to support cost tracking
* Confident communicator with design and delivery teams
* IT literate with working knowledge of AutoCAD
* Familiarity with CEMAR or similar project management platforms
* Critical thinking and documentation review skills
Qualifications:
* Essential: HNC/HND in Construction and the Built Environment (Civils Pathway)
* Desirable: Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* CSCS card, SMSTS – Desirable although Winvic will support candidates to obtain all relevant site base competencies.
