Role Overview
In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, this EMHP role involves delivering evidence‑based early interventions across educational settings and healthcare sectors.
Responsibilities
* Support the development of a whole‑school or college approach to wellbeing, including the implementation of mental health and wellbeing policies, creation of resources, support for campaigns, and delivery of training, assemblies and PHSE curriculum.
* Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff, enhancing teaching staff skills and confidence in supporting the wellbeing needs of their students or pupils, through both formal and informal methods.
* Undertake direct assessments and intervention for young people within education, primarily offering a low‑intensity service model based on cognitive‑behavioural therapy.
Following successful completion of the 1‑year programme, you will be offered an NHS AfC Band 5 EMHP role.
Training & Programme Details
The programme is delivered through a combination of taught days at university, independent self‑guided study days and experience gained in education wellbeing and mainstream mental health services.
Qualifications
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to work at degree level or possess an equivalent level of relevant experience, and must have a proven record of previous learning or formal study in child development, wellbeing or mental health.
