Site introduction:
Our Carlisle site holds a special place in biscuit-making history, proudly recognised as the oldest biscuit factory in the world, dating back to. Today, it’s powered by a dedicated team of over colleagues, each playing a vital role in shaping our heritage and driving our production capabilities forward. Home to beloved brands like Carr’s and Jacobs, the site operates ovens and packing lines, processing an incredible, tonnes of flour every year. Conveniently located near Carlisle Train Station, this historic site continues to be a cornerstone of British biscuit tradition, blending generations of expertise with modern innovation to bring joy to biscuit lovers across the UK and beyond.
What will this role achieve?
In this role, you’ll play an essential part in the day‑to‑day running of the Carlisle site. You’ll be the go‑to contact for key on‑site services; including security, the staff shop, and laundry, ensuring everything operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Your work will directly contribute to a positive experience for both colleagues and visitors.
What will be your key deliverables?
Facilities & Operations Support
1. Provide timely, proactive administrative support to the Facilities Manager.
2. Use SAP to manage local facilities cost centres, including monthly budget activity.
3. Carry out monthly canteen audits and support the annual facilities audit.
4. Ensure all facilities equipment from meeting rooms to canteen areas is safe, functional, and well maintained.
5. Manage catering arrangements for site visits and support VIP visit coordination.
6. Maintain high standards across all facilities areas and ensure any faults are resolved promptly.
Procurement & Finance
7. Order PPE and stationery to ensure teams have what they need.
8. Manage the facilities finance card and ensure accurate coding of all transactions in Concur.
9. Order stock for the staff shop and ensure banking processes are completed correctly for Genpact.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
10. Work with site leadership teams to develop and maintain Facilities roadmaps with a consistent, standardised approach.
11. Review KPIs monthly and escalate any issues to the Facilities Manager.
12. Partner with the Site Employee Engagement lead to support site events.
13. Collaborate with the UK Facilities Manager on the rollout of new contracts or service updates.
