Senior Data Scientist
Join Sky’s AI-driven platform as part of a specialised machine learning team. We’re building immersive, personalised live sports experiences for fans across devices. This role is for a Senior Data Scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, exploratory environment and enjoys iterative experimentation, prototyping, and solving open-ended problems.
We turn big ideas into products, content and services loved by millions, and we do it here at Sky.
What you’ll do
The Senior Data Scientist will develop and implement data-driven solutions to deliver innovative sports-focused products for a large customer base. You’ll identify trends in complex datasets, build models to predict outcomes, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to communicate and implement insights.
Responsibilities
* Develop predictive models using advanced statistical techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering).
* Analyse large datasets to uncover patterns and relationships between variables.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and translate data insights into solutions.
* Own the full lifecycle of ML solutions: design, deployment, and maintenance in production.
* Monitor model performance over time and adjust parameters for optimal results.
* Stay up-to-date with data science trends to recommend new approaches as needed.
* Build and integrate cloud-native components to expose models as scalable endpoints and publish inference results as events.
* Establish and maintain robust MLOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, retraining strategies, automated testing).
* Mentor junior data scientists and engineers on productionising ML.
What you’ll bring
* Strong collaboration skills across disciplines and a creative mindset.
* Good understanding of large language and multi-modal models.
* Experience in Python, Docker, and cloud-based environments (ideally AWS).
* Strong background in data analysis and machine learning with 3+ years’ end-to-end ML system experience.
* AWS Machine Learning Certification desirable.
* Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code to deploy ML solutions on AWS.
The rewards
* Sky Q and Sky Glass perks, private healthcare, and a generous pension package.
* Discounted mobile and broadband, Sky VIP rewards and experiences.
