Endoscopy Clerical Officer (Bookings and Reception)
The post holder will provide a high quality support service within the Endoscopy Department for both admin teams (bookings/reception), across the Trust. A versatile approach and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously are essential.
The Endoscopy Support Officer is responsible for ensuring the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), observing the rules of real time data entry. All aspects of this role should be carried out in line with Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality.
The Endoscopy Unit has five procedure rooms to carry out a wide range of endoscopy procedures. The Endoscopy Office and department are busy, responsible for validation and management of patient waiting lists for Endoscopic procedures within the Trust. This includes patients waiting for in patient procedures as well as outpatient procedures and surveillance, and providing cover for reception / retrieval of patient medical records.
The administrative office supports the work of clinicians and nursing staff within the department, working closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and other departments.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality support within the Endoscopy Department for bookings and reception teams across the Trust.
* Ensure correct and timely input of patient information onto the PAS with real time data entry.
* Follow Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality.
* Assist with validation and management of patient waiting lists for endoscopic procedures (inpatient, outpatient, and surveillance).
* Provide cover for reception and retrieval of patient medical records.
* Support clinicians and nursing staff within the department and work with the multidisciplinary team.
