Newly created opportunity within a growing Retail & Wholesale business that will report to the Group Finance Director, effectively being their right-hand person providing strategic and analytical support. This is an ambitious company with a great leadership team and the company continues to grow in a structured and sustainable manner. This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that company goals and targets are achieved and that growth continues on an upward trajectory whilst maintaining values and retaining quality in services and products. This commercially focused position will have the overarching responsibility for FP&A activities of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, strategy, decks, board packs and long-range planning. To be a suitable candidate you will need to be fully qualified with a number of years PQE and have extensive, and relevant, experience gained ideally within a Retail/Wholesale/Consumer Products environment or similar. You will have a proven ability to tell a story behind the numbers, pulling together decks and presenting at board level. You will need to be comfortable with large volumes of data and have exceptional modelling and analytical skills. This is a great role that will add value through the provision of insightful financial information and analysis to allow for commercially astute business decisions and optimisation of profitability. Responsibilities of the role include:Manage and oversee the full budgeting and forecasting process across all business divisions and consolidating at Group levelCo-ordinate, validate and critique financial performance across all business units, consolidating and providing narrativeHelp to construct the deck to be presented to the Exec Team and the board, coordinating delivery of required information in a timely mannerPerform macro-analysis all influencing factors of the business, both revenue and cost and to include risks and opportunitiesTake the lead on the monthly budget vs. actuals for Board reportingOwn the financial modelling process of the long term business planWork in partnership with the Group FD on the long-term/range business & strategic plans,Help to construct the desk for the Exec team, providing narrative and delivering at board meetingsFull ownership of the Capex modelBuild dashboards as required to allow useful flow of information to the businessManage a small number of cost centres, covering the Central/HQ functionsInvolvement in Power BI Reporting Candidate Specification:Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with extensive PQEExtensive commercial/FP&A experience gained within a Retail/Wholesale/Consumer Goods company or similar is essentialAdvanced Excel with exceptional analytical skillsConfident, high calibre communication skills being able to gain credibility and respect from othersNatural gravitas with great interpersonal skills, easily able to influence and direct others whilst being able to appreciate alternative viewsAble to demonstrate the ability to derive strong and actionable insights from data that can be turned into actual operational benefitsAbility to engage and present to all levels of stakeholdersSelf motivated, positive ‘can-do’ attitude, logical, adaptable and approachableProven business partnering with key stakeholdersAble to build and deliver reports for operational and strategic useCollaborative, team-player with a self-starter attitudeAble to work in a fast paced, ever changeable environment Please note only suitable applicants will be contacted regarding this position.
