Interim Facilities Manager
2-3 Months | Central London | Immediate start | c.£200–£300 per day (equivalent)
A up and coming arts organisation is seeking an Interim Facilities Manager to oversee the operations of a remarkable Grade II-listed building housing public galleries and creative spaces. This short-term assignment offers an exciting opportunity to support a values-driven charity dedicated to improving access to the arts from the global majority.
The Interim Facilities Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running, safety, and preservation of this unique site, working closely with senior colleagues, contractors, and external specialists to maintain high standards of compliance and care.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing the maintenance and upkeep of the Grade-listed building and associated facilities
• Overseeing planned and reactive works to ensure quality, value and minimal disruption
• Leading on health & safety, statutory compliance, and risk management
• Acting as the main liaison for contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies
• Supporting exhibitions, events and public programmes with effective facilities management
• Contributing to sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives
The successful candidate will have strong experience in facilities or estates management, ideally gained within a heritage, cultural, or public-facing environment. Knowledge of listed buildings and statutory compliance, along with excellent organisational and contractor management skills, are essential.
