Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Principal Designer based in Preston however the role does come with some flexibility which can be discussed at interview. The Principal Designer will be responsible for leading the planning, management, monitoring, and coordination of health and safety in the pre-construction phase of projects. This includes reviewing designs to ensure compliance with CDM regulations, identifying, and managing risks, and advising clients and project teams. The role also involves maintaining strong client relationships and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
Qualifications / Experience
* Experience in design coordination, CDM regulations, and risk management within construction projects
* In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards and practices
* Capabilities in client management, stakeholder coordination, and team collaboration
* Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
* Relevant professional qualifications, such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent
* Professional Memberships (e.g., IOSH, APS) is preferred
* Proficiency in Word, Excel and other general IT systems
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
* Proven experience as a Principal Designer or similar role in a professional consultancy environment
