Job Description
The role of Field Engineer is really important to us. You will be responsible for using technical expertise and experience to install a range of vehicle Telematics products into customers’ vehicles in a highly professional and timely manner, ensuring best practice techniques at every stage of the process. This role will play a key part in focusing on customer needs and satisfaction, continuously building on and enhancing relationships with customers to become the preferred supplier. Encompassing this, the role holder will ensure that the Company policies and guidelines are always adhered to.
You will work 40 hours per week with potential overtime and weekend work.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities day to day will be…
* Maintain pro‑active daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and appropriate follow up, leading to customer satisfaction.
* Completion of health and safety documentation before commencement of each installation/ repair.
* Ensure the “Job Sheet” is completed in full and signed by an authorised person before leaving the installation/ repair.
* Perform the allocated work on time, accurately and with a high quality of workmanship.
* Troubleshoot customer queries on perceived faulty equipment and suggest resolutions and designate equipment.
* Maintain the accuracy of assigned inventory to ensure accountability and integrity of stock, ensuring all company equipment is kept secure at all times.
Qualifications
* Ability to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment and showing logical decision making
* Hands‑on individual that is happy to ‘rollup their sleeves’ and resolve any problems or issues that may arise within the department
* Clean UK Driving License
* Team player who is confident and a self‑starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
* Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Initiative and problem solving ability, a pro‑active approach and “can do” attitude
* A strong desire to effect continuous improvements to the systems and processes
* Good planning and organisational skills
* Willing to stay away overnight
* Excellent communication and listening skills
* A polite, confident and friendly manner
* Flexibility and quick thinking
* To be well‑organised and diligent, even under pressure
