Your new role
As Credit Controller, you’ll play a vital role in managing client credit accounts, ensuring timely collections, and minimising financial risk. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to maintain accurate records and resolve payment issues efficiently.Your responsibilities will include:
1. Maintaining accurate customer account records
2. Chasing outstanding debts via phone, email, and letter
3. Negotiating payment plans with customers in financial difficulty
4. Escalating overdue accounts to legal teams when necessary
5. Allocating and reconciling payments to ensure accuracy
6. Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies and queries
7. Preparing reports on overdue accounts, bad debts, and cash flow
8. Providing insights on payment trends and credit risk
9. Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve credit-related issues
10. Supporting smooth billing and invoicing processes
11. Ensuringpliance with credit policies and legal regulations
This is a full-time, permanent role (hybrid model) offering challenge, stability, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What you'll need to succeed
12. Proven experience in credit control, debt collection, or a related role
13. Strong understanding of credit management procedures
14. Excellentmunication and negotiation skills
15. Confidence in handling difficult conversations and advising on payment strategies
16. Solid Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software
17. Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
18. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
19. Customer service orientation with a focus on relationship-building
Credit Management certification is preferred but not essential.
