The Derby London City, Curio Collection by Hilton joins an existing portfolio of award-winning hotels owned by Dominus and managed by Dominus Hospitality. Opening in February 2026 the hotel will join Hiltons prestigious Curio Collection in the UK, a global set ofremarkable upper upscale hotels handpicked for their unique character and personality- each one a part of the fabric of the city it calls home.

The Derby offers 234 contemporary bedrooms, including 13 suites with panoramic city views. About The Role
We are looking for a confident and guest-focused Reception Manager reporting to the Front of House Manager, to support in leading the Front Office operation during both the pre-opening phase and ongoing hotel operations. With a hands-on approach, you will play a key role in shaping the arrival experience and help build and develop the Front Office team, upholding Dominus and Curio Collection by Hiltons values.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Front of House Manager in recruiting, onboarding, and training the Reception team, ensuring a strong service culture from day one.
Oversee daily Front Office operations, ensuring smooth arrivals, departures, guest queries, and service recovery when required.
Ensure the team adheres to Dominus and Hilton Curio brand standards, policies, financial processes, safety regulations, and service expectations.
Monitor guest satisfaction (Stay Experience, TripAdvisor, Google Reviews) and support action plans to continually enhance the guest experience.
Support departmental financial performance through effective upselling, Hilton Honors enrolment, accurate billing, and efficient cost control.
Maintain strong cross-department collaboration to ensure a seamless guest journey, especially for VIP arrivals and special requests.
Assist with rotas, reporting, performance management, and maintaining accurate Front Office records and systems.
Serve as a point of escalation for guest concerns, resolving issues with professionalism and empathy.
Key Skills
Excellent communication, organisational and multitasking abilities.
A hands-on and supportive leadership style with a passion for coaching and team development.
Confident in handling escalations, problem-solving, and making sound decisions under pressure.
A solid understanding of Front Office operations, service standards and guest experience principles.
About You
Proven experience as a Reception Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager, or Duty Manager within a 4/5-star or lifestyle/luxury hotel environment.
Guest-focused, warm, and engaging, with a genuine passion for delivering standout service.
Organised, proactive, and adaptable
Collaborative, positive, and solutions-driven, supporting the wider hotel operation beyond the Front Desk when needed.
Proud to represent the hotel and brand, consistently demonstrating professionalism and authenticity.
