Job Title: CNC Machine Operator / Stone Mason Location: Southampton Salary: £24,420 - £39,770 per year (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (occasional Saturday overtime) We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established stone fabrication specialist based in Southampton, for an experienced CNC Machine Operator / Stone Mason to join their dedicated production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled craftsman to work with high-quality materials such as granite, marble, quartz, and porcelain, producing bespoke stone products for residential and commercial projects. Key Responsibilities Operate CNC cutting, milling, and polishing machinery to shape and finish stone surfaces. Read and interpret CAD drawings and templates with precision. Carry out manual masonry work including cutting, edging, and polishing by hand. Maintain all machinery, tools, and workstations, ensuring a tidy and safe environment. Conduct final inspections to uphold strict quality standards. Safely load, move, and handle heavy stone slabs using lifting equipment. Collaborate closely with the fabrication manager and production team to meet deadlines and customer expectations. About You Proven experience as a CNC Operator or Stone Mason within the stone or solid surface industry. Competent in the use of CNC bridge saws, waterjets, and polishing machines. Strong technical understanding of materials including granite, marble, quartz, and porcelain. Confident interpreting technical drawings and using measuring instruments. Physically capable of handling heavy materials safely. Focused on quality, accuracy, and maintaining high standards of workplace safety. Desirable Skills Experience using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Alphacam, Breton, or similar). Forklift or overhead crane certification. Full UK driving licence.
