Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS - Stockton. Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, Stockton, England. Responsibilities
Provide mental health assessment, psychiatric opinions, diagnosis and holistic care plans for children and young people up to age 18, referred in hours and on call. Direct patient contact includes new referrals, new psychiatric assessments and follow-up reviews. Manage conditions such as ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, Mood, Eating, Tic, Psychosis, Self-harm, Conduct and Sleep disorders. Write reports for and attend relevant multiagency meetings; follow trust person-centered care pathways. Clinical work predominantly at the clinical base (The Ridings in Redcar or new site) with possible activity in other settings. Be Section 12 approved, preferably with Approved Clinician status, with the Trust supporting achievement if not already in place on appointment. Engage in teaching and supervision, including a minimum of 8 hours of clinical supervision per year; opportunities to become GMC registered as a trainer (clinical and/or educational supervisor). Essential: MB BS or equivalent; Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Desirable: MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification; Approved Clinician Status and Section 12 Status or ability to achieve within 3 months; qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management. Excellent knowledge of psychiatry with a bio-psycho-social approach; strong clinical skills and wide medical knowledge. Excellent oral and written English communication; ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty; evidence-informed decision making; ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
