We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the learning, confidence and wellbeing of pupils who require additional support.
The Role
You will work closely with teachers, the ALNCo and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Learning and developmental delays
Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or within the mainstream classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with ALN, helping them to access learning
Assist in implementing Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
Support behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists
Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience supporting children with additional learning needs (desirable)
Is patient, calm and compassionate
Has good communication and teamwork skills
Can build positive relationships with pupils
Is adaptable, proactive and reliable
Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
