Contract Manager
to lead the successful delivery of highways schemes, ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction at every stage.
About the Role
As a Contract Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the day-to-day management of our highways projects. Acting as the
Management Representative for Heidelberg Materials Contracting
, you'll oversee all aspects of site operations, from planning and execution to client liaison and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Leadership:
Manage the full lifecycle of highways projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
* Team Management:
Lead subcontractors and internal teams, ensuring clear communication, safe working practices, and high morale.
* Client Engagement:
Build strong relationships with clients to foster trust, ensure satisfaction, and secure repeat business.
* Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all work complies with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality regulations. Lead daily safety briefings, site inductions, and toolbox talks.
* Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records including inspection sheets, material logs, plant usage, and labour allocation. Submit timely reports to head office.
* Planning & Programming:
Collaborate with suppliers and operational teams to ensure effective resource allocation and adherence to project timelines.
* Cost Control:
Provide weekly cost-value reconciliations to monitor performance and maximise project value.
* Continuous Improvement:
Promote a "Right First Time, Every Time" culture to deliver defect-free schemes.
