We are seeking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join our successful Patient Care Advisory Team. This role is 20 - 25 hours per week; however, there is overtime available based on business requirements. Staff are expected to work across all four AMP Group sites, where possible. Immediate starts are available. Previous reception experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
The ideal candidate would be a proactive individual who can use their initiative. They will possess excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with patients. We need a team player who can be flexible in times of sickness and holidays.
The successful applicant must be IT literate and willing to undertake relevant training to enhance their skills.
Duties will include:
1. Meeting and greeting patients
2. Receiving telephone calls
3. Maintaining and updating confidential records via computerized systems
4. General administrative work associated with general practice
Main duties of the job
1. Running an effective and efficient reception service
2. Dealing with all general enquiries
3. Receiving and making telephone calls and taking messages
4. Actioning repeat prescription requests promptly
5. Registering patients on the online system
6. Managing the day-to-day running of the computer system and entering patient information
7. Opening mail and ensuring all correspondence is scanned and attached to patient records
8. Keeping the reception area tidy
9. Registering new patients accurately and promptly
About us
The organization is run by a board including the Medical Director and a Senior Leadership Team. The Receptionist role involves working within a team to carry out administrative functions and work in the telephone hub.
We believe in general practice and not just general practitioners. Without a strong team, we could not operate effectively and meet our targets and deadlines.

Qualifications
* GCSE in English and Maths - C or above
Experience
* Previous experience in a GP practice is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given.
* Working across all 4 sites will be required; own transport is advised.
