Teaching Personnel are working with a school in Lymington, Hampshire that are renowned for its commitment to providing exceptional specialist education for students with autism (ASC) and other associated needs. The school are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalised support to students with ASC, ensuring they have access to the resources and assistance they need to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support to students with ASC, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and emotional regulation.
* Facilitate learning as directed by the teacher and in line with pupils Educational Health Care Plans(EHCP).
* Support behavioral strategies tailored to the specific needs of each student.
* Support students during classroom activities, helping them to stay engaged, focused, and on task.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement effective support strategies that promote student progress and independence.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to relevant stakeholders and adjusting support strategies as needed.
* Promote the development of essential life skills, including communication, socialisation, self-care, enhance students independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Previous experience working with individuals with ASC or other special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of students with ASC.
* Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the evolving needs of students and the school community.
* Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
