Overview

Community Action Suffolk (CAS) is the county’s infrastructure organisation for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. We exist to ensure our sector, and its volunteers are supported, safe and sustainable and that our communities are active and resilient. Volunteering Development Manager – You will provide strategic direction and management and work closely with partners to enable engagement with volunteering, champion the benefits of volunteering, and ensure an inclusive approach. You will have a good level of knowledge of infrastructure support and be an experienced manager of people. You should have an awareness and understanding of the challenges facing the voluntary sector, be skilled in developing partnerships, demonstrate sound financial acumen, and the ability to navigate multiple priorities.

This role will suit individuals who have a passion for the VCFSE Sector and who can champion building capacity, efficiency, and sustainability. You will be an excellent communicator at all levels and able to write and speak persuasively to a diverse range of groups. You will need to be driven, pro-active, flexible and resourceful as each role can have a busy and varied workload. You should also be confident working independently as well as having the ability to be a good team player.

Responsibilities

* Provide strategic direction and management for volunteering initiatives and engage with partners to enable volunteering activities.
* Champion the benefits of volunteering and promote an inclusive approach within the VCFSE sector.
* Develop partnerships, navigate multiple priorities, and demonstrate sound financial acumen.
* Lead and develop teams, ensuring effective delivery of activities and safeguarding of volunteers.


Requirements/Qualifications

* Knowledge of infrastructure support and experience managing people.
* Awareness and understanding of challenges facing the voluntary sector.
* Ability to develop partnerships and demonstrate financial acumen.
* Strong communication skills, able to engage diverse groups; persuasive written and verbal communication.
* Proactive, flexible, resourceful, able to work independently and as part of a team.
