Role: Residential Childcare Worker Bank. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that works directly with young people, supporting them around a range of complex needs connected to their individual life experiences and experienced childhood adversities.
PVG check: Due to the nature of the role, all Residential Childcare Workers must undergo a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and achieve membership before commencing work. Spark of Genius will cover the cost of this check.

What will you do?
* Work in a positive, respectful and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and achievements
* Work as part of a friendly team to meet social, emotional, educational and well-being needs
* Support the young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care and independence skills
* Update and maintain care plans, review reports and risk assessments and contribute to individual development
* Liaise with parents and partner agencies to respect and promote the best interests of the young people
* Encourage activities outside the homes including social, educational and community engagement
* Create a caring environment and participate in activities that cultivate a sense of belonging
What do we look for?
* Good understanding of developmental needs and milestones of young people
* Experience of working with children and families
* Full UK driving licence (manual)
* Ability to communicate, engage and form positive relationships with young people, parent/carers and professionals
* Ability to produce clear written reports and present information
* Ability to remain calm and objective in difficult situations
* HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification, or the ability to undertake these qualifications
