Job Title: Human Resources and Payroll Apprentice - Fixed Term Contract (12-18 months) Department: Human Resources Reports to: Human Resources Officer About us: Established in Telford for 30 years, Epson have been supporting young people through a wide variety of apprenticeship schemes for many years. The role: As a HR and Payroll Apprentice, you will complete a Level 3 HR Apprenticeship over 12–18 months, delivered through a blend of virtual teaching, monthly on-site assessor visits, interactive group workshops, and dedicated 1-to-1 support. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain valuable hands-on experience by working alongside our HR and Payroll team, developing essential skills and building a strong understanding of the day-to-day operations within both functions. It takes hard work and dedication throughout your apprenticeship, but you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, valuable practical skills, and guidance and support from an experienced team and mentor. Salary: £16,268 per annum Shift: Standard Days – Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, induction, and leavers’ processes Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and organisational policies Support recruitment activities such as job adverts, interview scheduling, and candidate communication Prepare letters, contracts, and other HR-related documentation Assist with absence management, including recording and monitoring sickness data Help maintain HR systems, ensuring information is accurate and up to date Support HR projects such as wellbeing initiatives and engagement activities Assist in processing monthly payroll information, including new starters, leavers, changes, and absence data Work with the HR and Payroll teams to ensure payroll deadlines are met Learn how to maintain payroll records in line with legal and audit requirements Support HR meetings by preparing paperwork, taking notes, and following up on actions Always ensure confidentiality when handling employee information Proactively engage with learning opportunities and complete apprenticeship requirements Qualifications required – essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Desirable experience: Previous administrative or customer service experience Benefits: KPI related bonus Pension scheme Life assurance up to 4 x annual salary Voluntary lifestyle benefit scheme 31 days holiday (incl Bank holidays) Discounted Epson products and consumables Onsite occupational health and physiotherapist Free eye tests through Specsavers “We Care” support program Perkbox Company Sick Pay scheme Free secure parking onsite Training specific to role, or development
