PLC Siemens Safety Software Engineer (Contract)
Location: Caraffi Hatfield, England, United Kingdom – Hybrid 2 days a week in Welwyn Garden City (9‑month contract)
We’re looking for experienced PLC Siemens Safety Software Engineers to help design, develop and optimise safety‑critical control systems used across advanced automation environments.
What You’ll Do
* Develop and maintain safety‑related PLC systems (Siemens; Beckhoff a bonus).
* Implement safety functions (E‑stops, interlocks, light curtains, etc.) to global standards.
* Support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning and system optimisation.
* Produce technical documentation and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
What You Bring
* 3–5+ years in PLC programming with strong safety engineering expertise.
* Siemens Safety training.
* Strong knowledge of safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508).
* Skilled in TIA Portal and industrial comms (Profibus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
* STEM degree and ability to work independently across multiple projects.
* TÜV or CE/SIL experience is a plus.
