Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Clinical Educator to join our Medicine, Surgery and Specialty Services within the Children's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse educator to shape the future of clinical excellence through education, innovation and workforce development.
As a Band 7 Clinical Educator, you will lead on the delivery of high-quality education, training and professional development for our clinical teams. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our workforce is skilled, competent and confident in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care across a wide range of clinical settings.
We are looking for a highly motivated registered nurse with:
* Current NMC registration.
* Substantial post‑registration experience within medicine, surgery or a specialist paediatric area.
* Proven experience in clinical education and teaching.
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* A passion for developing others and driving excellence in clinical care.
* A teaching or practice assessor qualification.

Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement and evaluate innovative education programmes to support clinical competence and professional growth.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements across Medicine, Surgery and Specialty Services.
* Facilitate simulation‑based and bedside teaching tailored to staff learning needs.
* Drive quality improvement and assurance initiatives through education and evidence‑based practice.
* Contribute to clinical governance processes by supporting learning from incidents and audits.
* Support the professional development of all clinical‑facing nursing and healthcare staff.
* Work collaboratively to promote workforce planning retention.
* Utilise and share specialist skills to meet the needs of patients with complex and specialised conditions.
* Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating expert practice and supporting multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Provide visible leadership, coaching and mentorship to develop confidence and capability within the nursing workforce.
* Collaborate with matrons, ward leaders and senior nursing teams to align education priorities with service objectives.
