Role Overview:
As a Security Officer (2-Shift) at Huntsman, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant environment across our Duxford site. Working within a structured shift rotation, you will oversee day-to-day security operations, support emergency response activities, and act as a visible and trusted presence across the campus.
This is a hands-on role where professionalism, sound judgement, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic situations are essential. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, and visitors to uphold the highest standards of safety and security

Role Responsibilities:
As a Security Officer you will be responsible for:
1. Manage and control site access for employees, visitors, and contractors, ensuring compliance with security procedures
2. Conduct regular site patrols, perimeter checks, and walk rounds to maintain a strong security presence
3. Monitor and operate CCTV, access control, and communication systems to ensure effective site surveillance
4. Carry out spot checks to validate identification, contractor activity, and adherence to site rules
5. Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following established procedures
6. Support coordination of emergency services and contribute to incident management on site
7. Assist in the planning and execution of emergency drills and preparedness programmes
8. Manage visitor bookings and support inductions for contractors and visitors
9. Deliver accurate reporting and documentation related to security and safety activities
10. Actively contribute to continuous improvement in site security and emergency readiness
Experience and Competencies:
We are looking for experienced candidates with:
11. Previous experience in security, emergency services, police, or a similar operational environment
12. Proven ability to respond to incidents and follow structured emergency procedures
13. Experience working independently in a responsible and trusted role
14. Familiarity with site-based operations in industrial or high-safety environments is advantageous
What we are looking for:
15. Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding) – preferrable
16. First Aid at Work certification – preferrable
17. Strong decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or emergency situations
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner
19. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage workload within a shift environment
20. High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail
21. Comfortable operating security systems such as CCTV, access control tools, and radios
22. Strong organisational skills, particularly in managing visitor and contractor processes
23. Basic IT literacy, including familiarity with business systems (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
24. Additional industry-recognised qualifications are considered an advantage
Working Pattern
25. 2-shift rotation (Monday to Friday)
26. Flexibility to support alternative shifts where required
27. Active role involving patrols, emergency response, and outdoor work
