Field Service Engineer: Patient Handling Equipment & Medical Beds
Location: Cambridge / Colchester / Ipswich
About the Role
We're looking for a Field Service Engineer with a solid electro‑mechanical experience to join a growing team supporting patient handling equipment and medical beds across Cambridge and Suffolk. You'll be carrying out planned preventative maintenance and repairs while delivering a professional, customer‑focused service to care homes, hospitals, and healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, repairs and fault‑finding on patient handling equipment and medical beds.
* Recommend repairs, upgrades and improvements to customers, including quotations for wear‑and‑tear parts to reduce breakdowns between visits.
* Identify and pass on potential sales opportunities to the internal sales team.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of patient handling equipment.
* Ensure your company vehicle, tools, stock, phone, and IT equipment are kept in good working order.
* Complete accurate timesheets, job reports, travel logs, and equipment.
Skills
* Proven electro‑mechanical skills.
* Experience in field service, ideally within medical, mobility or patient handling equipment (not essential if you have transferable skills).
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
