This role is based at The Gables Learning Centre on a part-time basis. We will also consider applications for anyone looking for term-time roles.
Located in the Midlands, The Gables Learning Centre provides sector-leading standards of education, therapeutic support, and care for small groups of young people, all on one site. This approach mirrors that of a traditional children’s home and school relationship but considers the additional support required by young people with significant special educational needs. The young people will live in a children’s home located on-site. These purpose-built homes offer an extremely high-quality living experience for young people.
Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most integrated model in SEND. Across all our specialist schools and children’s homes, we provide unrivalled levels of clinical support, both in expertise and breadth of provision. Our young people present with complex needs including developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions, and special educational needs.
As part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, you will support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments. Based on clinical assessment and formulation, you will offer individualized interventions and engagement to our young people. You’ll also assess their mental health and recommend appropriate interventions in a personalized care plan. Building rapport is key; by doing this, you’ll be able to deliver effective counselling and provide feedback on progress.

Here’s what we need from you:
* Be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC
* Have proven skills and experience in engaging and delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people with complex needs
* Experience supporting teams around a child or young person to ensure they receive clinically informed living and learning experiences
* Be confident, engaging, effective, and able to model, guide, lead, and train
* Be highly organized and proactive
* Be committed to achieving the best outcomes for young people
