Deputy Engineering Manager (PSV)Ashgrove 63,609.80 + £3,648.95 Shift Allowance Any 5 Days from 7 (Shift-Based)This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Supervisor, Workshop Manager, Fleet Engineer, Assistant Engineering Manager, or Deputy Engineering Manager looking to progress their career within a large and modern PSV operation.The RoleReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of a busy engineering department responsible for maintaining a modern fleet of buses, including the latest electric vehicle technology.Key responsibilities include:Supporting the Engineering Manager in leading the engineering functionEnsuring maximum fleet availability and vehicle reliabilityMaintaining compliance with DVSA, operator, and industry standardsPromoting a strong Health & Safety culture across the workshopManaging employee wellbeing and fatigue management processesSupervising engineering teams and supporting their developmentAssisting with maintenance planning and operational performanceDriving continuous improvement across workshop operationsRequirementsPrevious supervisory or management experience within a commercial vehicle, HGV, PSV, bus, coach, or fleet maintenance environmentStrong understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical engineeringKnowledge of electrical systems and vehicle bodywork repairsExperience managing workshop teams and operational performanceExcellent planning, organisational, and decision-making skillsGood understanding of Health & Safety legislationAbility to obtain a Transport Manager CPC if requiredPSV experience is highly desirable, although candidates from HGV, commercial vehicle, fleet, plant, or similar heavy vehicle backgrounds will also be considered.What's on Offer?Salary of £63,609.80 per annumAdditional shift allowance of £3,648.95 per annumCompany pension schemeExtensive employee discount and benefits packageFree travel benefitsOngoing training and professional developmentGenuine career progression opportunities within a national transport organisationEmployee Assistance ProgrammeModern workshops and vehicle fleet including electric vehiclesSupportive and inclusive working environmentTPBN1_UKTJ
