In-House Legal Counsel (Southwest Based)
Working closely with the Group Counsel to drive high‑impact legal support across the business, this role offers dynamic exposure to commercial contracts, high‑value transactions, corporate governance, and funding projects, with opportunities to take on varied and challenging legal work as it arises.
Key Responsibilities
Transactional & Funding Work
* Oversee legal aspects of group projects such as acquisitions, disposals and financing, coordinating with external advisers where needed.
* Handle warranty and insurance processes linked to transactions.
* Lead on legal due diligence and manage information flow and disclosure.
Corporate Support
* Prepare governance documents including reports and meeting records.
* Assist with group structuring for investment and financing purposes.
* Contribute legal input to investment proposals.
* Draft, negotiate and advise on energy supply and optimisation agreements.
* Support work relating to government schemes or market mechanisms where relevant.
General Commercial Work
* Produce, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements such as NDAs, standard terms, and bespoke commercial contracts.
* Maintain template documents and improve contract processes.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel.
* Support the Head of Legal on compliance, governance and risk matters.
Experience Required
* Qualified solicitor with proven post‑qualification experience.
* Comfortable managing a varied and fast‑moving workload.
* Experience in the renewable energy industry is advantageous.
* Prior in‑house background is beneficial.
Skills
* Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
Fantastic remuneration, hybrid working and the team are open to a 4 or 5 day week.
