An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Being the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting with renewal negotiations,
* Organising and leading monthly meetings with senior management,
* Providing management information on debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
* Managing cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are efficient and compliant,
* Overseeing the Credit Control Department and managing the team proactively,
* Processing credit applications and PODs,
* Making major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Controlling credit limits,
* Handling litigation, insolvency, and pursuing claims,
* Setting credit policies and managing credit notes,
* Assessing risks for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintaining good relationships with stakeholders,
* Reviewing Terms and Conditions for sales,
* Visiting customers and sites as needed.
