Accounts Assistant (Part-Time) Location: Liverpool (Fully Office-Based)
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 24 hours/week
Salary: £18,720 (Pro-Rata of £30, FTE)
Holidays: 28 days + Bank Holidays (Pro-Rata)
Reporting to: Head of Finance & Organisation
Role OverviewA well-established organisation in the Liverpool area is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support its finance operations. This part-time role offers a collaborative working environment, flexibility for appointments, and the opportunity to contribute to a busy finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger
1. Set up new supplier accounts and manage approval forms
2. Raise purchase orders in line with internal processes
3. Input invoices with correct coding and match to POs
4. Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries
5. Reconcile statements and prepare payment runs
6. Post direct debit payments
Sales Ledger
7. Process new customer account forms
8. Monitor credit ratings and produce monthly statements
9. Generate aged debtor reports and follow up on overdue accounts
10. Allocate customer payments
Staff Expenses
11. Maintain mileage spreadsheets and chase paperwork
12. Review expenses and input credit card statements
13. Manage petty cash and reconcile monthly
Timesheets & HMRC Reporting
14. Analyse timesheets and calculate overtime
15. Prepare import spreadsheets and submit intrastat reports
General Duties
16. Assist with filing, archiving, and ad-hoc Excel reporting
17. Provide cover for the second Accounts Assistant when needed
Person Specification
18. Experience in a similar finance or accounts role
19. Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel
20. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
21. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
22. Excellentmunication skills
