The Engineering Supervisor's role is to ensure maintenance support is continuously provided to the Management Team and production department to achieve a sustained improvement in overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and Maintenance KPIs, whilst assisting the production team in attaining best in class status.
The Maintenance Supervisor will have full accountability, control, and responsibility for all mechanical/electrical maintenance issues on their shifts, while inputting programmed activities to the subsequent shifts.
This position is measured by achieving safety, environmental, and operational performance levels, with a focus on continuous improvement for business efficiencies.
The primary activity involves leading the maintenance team to ensure safety and performance standards are met, following Heidelberg Materials' safe systems of work outlined in the IMS.
Key Performance Areas include:
* Health and Safety: Operating at the highest safety standards, implementing continuous improvement plans, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and permits to work.
* Environmental: Ensuring compliance with environmental objectives and plans.
* Contractor Management: Supervising engineering/maintenance contractors during shift activities.
* Compliance: Adhering to statutory legislation and company regulations.
* KPI Delivery: Improving OEE from 60% to over 90%, ensuring maintenance schedule and work order compliance, increasing MTBF, and reducing repair times.
* Operations: Achieving optimal production levels at minimal costs and communicating operational improvements.
* Quality: Ensuring high-quality operational procedures in collaboration with technical teams.
* Business Analysis: Working with operations to utilize management information for profit enhancement.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Supporting CCA targets and adherence to the Aggregates Management Handbook.
* Assisting with data collection for Heidelberg Materials' global KPIs.
* Ensuring adequate resourcing, training, and development of maintenance teams.
* Managing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to meet KPI targets.
* Supporting operational and maintenance control mechanisms.
* Following proper handover procedures for shift communication.
* Collaborating on maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintaining 5S standards through housekeeping and related duties.
* Managing unscheduled/emergency maintenance safely and efficiently.
* Supporting root cause analysis investigations into asset failures.
