SBUHB has committed to meet the WHO Elimination of HBV and HCV as a public health threat by 2030. Hepatitis C, which bears the greatest burden in Wales, especially in Swansea Bay, is a very curable infection. Early treatment is crucial to improve liver health and reduce hospital admissions. However, applying therapy is complex due to social determinants of health such as homelessness, substance dependence, and incarceration.
Swansea Bay BBV Unit, known for pioneering studies and research, is uniquely positioned within Wales to innovate care for diverse individuals affected by viral hepatitis, including those receiving infected blood products, homeless and vulnerable adults, individuals in the criminal justice system, and those with poorer health outcomes and drug dependence.
Main duties of the job
The team will collaborate effectively with BBV practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team, including Integrated Sexual Health, Respiratory, and Homeless Health, to maximize each interaction's potential and deliver resource-efficient, cost-effective screening and pathways to specialist care.

Person specification
Essential Qualifications & Knowledge
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and a Bachelor's Degree
* Proficient in clinical specialty knowledge and service improvement
* Ability to conduct literature searches and critically appraise research papers
* Teaching qualification or equivalent experience, advanced clinical skills, non-medical prescribing
* Relevant experience in the specialty and working in a multidisciplinary environment
* Experience mentoring pre-registration nursing/midwifery students, undertaking audits, participating in research and practice change
Essential Aptitude and Abilities

* Effective leadership and management skills
* Good communication, tact, and diplomacy
* Experience presenting to groups
* Awareness of professional issues, effective time management, IT skills
* Welsh language skills desirable (levels 1-5)
