Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Onshore Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor to play a key role on a major infrastructure energy project. This is a hands-on site-based position where you will act as the vital link between on-site contractors, commissioning management, and engineering support teams.
You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring safe, high-quality installation and commissioning of complex electrical and control systems — shaping progress, reducing risk, and enabling a smooth transition into operational service.
Key Purpose of the Role
* Act as the on-site focal point for electrical installation and commissioning activities
* Provide clear, fact-based insight into progress, quality, safety, and risk
* Drive a strong safety culture while maintaining momentum and quality
* Enable informed decision-making through structured reporting and collaboration
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate alignment meetings between site teams and back-office engineers
* Act as a role model for safe behaviour, intervening where necessary
* Supervise contractors across electrical installation, outfitting, and commissioning
* Monitor quality and progress, identifying risks and proposing mitigations
* Coordinate interfaces where multiple contractors are present on site
* Support commissioning management with accurate observations and forecasts
* Oversee mechanical completion and readiness for handover to operations
Core Tasks
* Review and witness contractor ITPs and test procedures (FAT, SAT, SIT)
* Supervise delivery, handling, installation, termination, and testing of equipment and cables
* Ensure compliance with Critical to Functionality (CtF) and Critical to Quality (CtQ) standards
* Execute Low Voltage and High Voltage Authorised Person duties (LV AP / HV AP)
* Manage electrical safety, including lock-out/tag-out and energisation checks
* Conduct inspections and testing prior to final handover
* Capture lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities

* Closed-out punches and non-conformances across electrical systems
* Clear safety observations and improvement actions
* Constructive lessons learned to support future project delivery
Authority
* Authority to accept or reject installation, test, and commissioning activities in line with contractual and project requirements
Qualifications
You’ll be a confident, site-experienced supervisor who is comfortable balancing safety, quality, and delivery pressure in complex project environments.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an engineering-related discipline
* Proven experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of:
o HV & LV electrical systems
o Electromechanical and multidiscipline dynamic systems
o Control, SCADA, communications, and telecoms systems
* Strong contractor management and site coordination skills
Mandatory Certifications:
* UK Offshore/Onshore Medical + Chester Step Test
* GWO Training (BST, BTT, Enhanced First Aid, Control of Hazardous Energies, High Voltage)
* LV / HV Authorised Person experience
